FREE COMIC BOOK DAY '08 by DNA-1 FREE COMIC BOOK DAY '08 by DNA-1
May 3rd is FREE COMIC BOOK DAY, and Marvel's got two brand new offerings this year. Shown here is the cover for one of them--a Marvel Adventures special featuring Hulk, Spider-man, Iron Man, and (if you look closely) Ant-man.

If you can make it to you local comic store, make sure to grab a free copy!

Pencils and inks: Me

EDIT: Wanted to confirm that FCBD is on the 3RD, not the 2nd. :)

Nice artwork. I'm interested in how much source material goes into such work. Do you have piles of muscle mags lying around? Or can you draw such images from memory? If so, how? Do comic artists have special bulbous art brains? :)

Sorry for the super late reply, but I thought your comment deserved an answer. Basically, I have an accumulated working knowledge of anatomy that gets the job done most of the time. When I get stuck on a tricky angle or something's just not looking right, then I break out the anatomy book, muscle mag, etc. That stuff should never be a crutch, but it can really help out in a bind.

There're a lot of different ways to draw his mask, so I think Spidey's fun for almost anyone to draw. :)
